But we don’t only create awareness in the communities where JTI sources tobacco leaf, but also in the corporate communities that have the power to continue to drive the changes. With that in mind, a photography exhibition is currently on display in the reception area of JTI’s Headquarters building in Geneva. The photos of children, families, farmers and teachers were taken earlier this year in Brazil, Malawi and Zambia. All of the people in the photos directly benefit from ARISE activities. The exhibition will visit other JTI offices around the world, and will eventual end in Tokyo in November 2016. For those unable to see the photos in person, the exhibition catalogue includes them all.
Like our efforts in the field, feedback so far has been positive. Her Excellency Rhoda M. Jackson, Ambassador of The Bahamas to United Nation’s Office in Geneva says, “An amazing example of Corporate Responsibility in action. Continue to work for the good of those who have potential but may lack opportunities…”. That’s exactly what we plan to do!
